About The Role
We are seeking a Storage Automation Developer to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, highly available solutions that support enterprise-wide storage infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to automating storage provisioning, monitoring, alerting, auditing, inventory management, and capacity planning processes. This position demands a blend of software development, storage engineering, and infrastructure automation skills, with a focus on creating robust tools that enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.
The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to architect innovative storage solutions, support virtualisation and software-defined storage environments, and troubleshoot complex issues across operating systems, networks, and storage systems. You will play a key role in advancing our automation capabilities, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure and aligning with industry best practices.

Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess a strong technical background with proven experience in software development and storage management. Essential qualifications include proficiency in Python and/or Perl programming languages, with a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and engineering best practices. Hands-on experience working within Linux or RHEL environments is required, along with comprehensive knowledge of enterprise storage technologies such as NFS, CIFS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, SCSI, RAID, NVMe/SSD, and distributed storage systems.
Additional qualifications include strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, networking, and storage infrastructure. Experience with storage automation, provisioning, monitoring, and capacity management is highly desirable. Technical expertise with IBM GPFS / IBM Storage Scale, container platforms like Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or GCP will be advantageous. Familiarity with SQL, object-oriented programming, and storage solutions from vendors like NetApp, HDS, EMC, Brocade, or Veritas will further strengthen your application.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop highly available and scalable applications supporting enterprise storage infrastructure.
- Build automation solutions covering storage provisioning, monitoring, alerting, auditing, and inventory management.
- Develop internal applications and tooling that integrate with enterprise storage platforms.
- Design tools supporting problem management, preventative maintenance, and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to architect and integrate storage technologies and solutions.
- Support storage virtualization, software-defined storage, and distributed/scale-out file systems.
- Develop automation and observability capabilities across large-scale infrastructure environments.
- Troubleshoot complex issues spanning operating systems, networks, and storage infrastructure.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to establishing technical standards and best practices.
