Senior Systems Engineer – Trading Technology Start-up
Python, Go/Rust/Java, Real-Time Data | Up to £120,000 + 15% Minimum Bonus + Benefits | Hybrid | London, Tower Bridge
We are working with a London-based trading technology start-up that's looking to bring in a Senior Systems Engineer to help build out the platform powering real-time trading intelligence for brokers and traders.
This isn't a typical backend role. It sits at the intersection of systems engineering and product architecture, focused on building the platform end-to-end — from database and infrastructure through to the logic that turns raw communication and market data into real-time trading intelligence.

💻 Tech Stack
Key technologies include:
- Python (production backend experience essential)
- A compiled backend language — Go, Rust, or Java
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite)
- Real-time data pipelines — WebSockets, webhooks, live data feeds
🧠 What You'll Be Doing
- Owning features end-to-end — design, build, test, and deployment
- Working across the platform's backend and core architecture
- Handling real-time communications and market data at volume
- Working directly with the CEO, senior engineering, and clients to shape the product
💰 Bonus + Benefits
- Salary: Up to £120,000
