Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with a strong interest in infrastructure, networking, and automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Python-based applications, tools, and automation solutions, while working closely with networking and Linux environments.

This role would suit a developer who enjoys working across the boundary between software development, network engineering, and infrastructure automation, and who has hands-on exposure to Linux and Ansible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain robust applications, scripts, and automation solutions using Python.
  • Develop Python-based tooling to support network infrastructure, system administration, monitoring, configuration, and operational processes.
  • Work with networking teams to automate and improve network configuration and management.
  • Integrate Python applications and automation with network devices, APIs, services, and infrastructure platforms.
  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation workflows.
  • Support the automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational tasks.
  • Work within Linux environments, including troubleshooting, scripting, process management, and system configuration.
  • Diagnose and resolve software, infrastructure, and networking issues.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and documented code.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, networking, and engineering teams to deliver reliable automation solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of development practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
