We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, develop and support market data platforms within a Global Markets environment.
The role involves building end-to-end technology solutions across front-end applications, backend services, APIs and data layers. You will contribute to platforms that support critical market data analytics, distribution and consumption, ensuring solutions are scalable, performant and reliable in production-critical environments.
The ideal candidate will combine strong full-stack engineering capabilities with experience working with large datasets, distributed systems and market data technologies. You will collaborate closely with trading, analytics and data teams to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain full-stack applications spanning user interfaces, backend services, APIs and databases.
- Build and enhance market data platforms supporting analytics, data distribution and downstream consumption.
- Develop and integrate APIs and services using technologies such as REST and gRPC.
- Work with large-scale NoSQL and distributed data stores, including MongoDB, HBase or similar technologies.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and drive resolutions through to completion.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable and practical technical solutions.
- Collaborate with Front Office trading, analytics, data and technology teams to deliver effective solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, scalability, reliability and overall engineering quality.
- Support integrations with analytics platforms and downstream systems.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of distributed systems and polyglot technology architectures.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong full-stack development experience across front-end applications, backend APIs and data layers.
- Proficiency in Python or experience with polyglot backend development.
- Experience designing, building and consuming REST APIs and/or gRPC services.
- Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, HBase or equivalent distributed data stores.
- Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills in production environments.
- Proven ability to take ownership of technical issues, from investigation and root cause analysis through to resolution.
- Experience developing data-intensive applications and working with large datasets.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
Preferred Domain Experience
- Experience working within a Front Office trading or Global Markets environment, ideally covering Fixed Income, FX or Derivatives.
- Understanding of market data concepts, distribution and consumption.
- Knowledge of trade lifecycles and associated data flows.
- Awareness of how market data feeds into pricing, risk calculations and analytics.
- Experience with enterprise trading systems or market data platforms.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations within banking or financial services.

Technical & Data Expertise
- Databases: MongoDB, HBase or similar distributed data stores.
- Communication: gRPC and high-performance API services.
- Data modelling: Market data schemas, instrument data and metadata-heavy taxonomies, including FRTB-related structures.
- Integration: Connecting market data platforms with analytics and downstream systems.
- Architecture: Distributed systems and polyglot technology environments.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with market data platforms or third-party market data vendor systems.
- Exposure to data streaming or real-time processing frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms or distributed infrastructure environments.
- Previous experience within global banking or financial services.
Experience Level
We anticipate candidates with approximately 9–15 years of professional experience, although this is flexible for individuals with particularly relevant technical expertise.
