We’re currently looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong energy trading experience to join a high-performing technology team on an outside IR35 contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a contractor who enjoys working on complex, data-driven technology within a fast-moving energy trading environment.
You’ll be responsible for developing and enhancing Python-based applications and services that support energy trading, market analysis, and commercial decision-making. You’ll work closely with traders, analysts, and other technology specialists to deliver robust, scalable solutions across the trading technology stack.

6 months initial contract
2/3 days a week in Central London
Rate Circa £900P/D
Key responsibilities
- Developing high-quality Python applications and services
- Building and enhancing data pipelines and trading-related systems
- Integrating market data, pricing, and forecasting solutions
- Working closely with traders and analysts to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions

Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Python
- Proven experience working within energy trading
- AWS or Azure cloud experience
- Good understanding of energy markets and trading processes
- Strong SQL and data-handling skills
- Experience working closely with trading, quantitative, or commercial teams
