We’re currently looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong energy trading experience to join a high-performing technology team on an outside IR35 contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a contractor who enjoys working on complex, data-driven technology within a fast-moving energy trading environment.

You’ll be responsible for developing and enhancing Python-based applications and services that support energy trading, market analysis, and commercial decision-making. You’ll work closely with traders, analysts, and other technology specialists to deliver robust, scalable solutions across the trading technology stack.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing high-quality Python applications and services
  • Building and enhancing data pipelines and trading-related systems
  • Integrating market data, pricing, and forecasting solutions
  • Working closely with traders and analysts to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience with Python
  • Proven experience working within energy trading
  • AWS or Azure cloud experience
  • Good understanding of energy markets and trading processes
  • Strong SQL and data-handling skills
  • Experience working closely with trading, quantitative, or commercial teams
