About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join our dynamic team in Central London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale technology environment, focusing on automation, backend development, and network operations support. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks, APIs, and tooling that underpin complex telecom and network systems, including 5G and enterprise platforms. This is a hands-on engineering position that requires a deep understanding of Python, REST APIs, and automation technologies, with exposure to Linux, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and various databases. The role offers a hybrid working pattern, a competitive salary up to £90,000 plus bonus and benefits, and the chance to work on innovative projects that shape the future of telecommunications and network automation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Python development, with proven experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs. A solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, and SSH is essential. Candidates should have experience working within Linux environments, including Bash scripting and automation. Proficiency with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab is required. A strong grasp of both SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis, is necessary. Additionally, familiarity with automation libraries such as Requests, Pandas, and Paramiko will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively across teams, and a passion for developing scalable and reliable solutions.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation frameworks and scripts to support network testing, data processing, and operational workflows.
- Build RESTful APIs using frameworks like Flask and FastAPI for internal services and cross-team integrations.
- Create lightweight web interfaces and dashboards utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Jinja2 templating.
- Manage and optimize databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis for various application and testing needs.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain Docker and Docker Compose environments for application testing and deployment.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins and GitLab to ensure continuous integration and delivery.
- Automate Linux system tasks using Bash, shell scripting, and cron jobs to streamline operations.
- Integrate Python applications with telecom network systems and APIs to support network automation initiatives.
- Develop automated validation, health checks, and service monitoring capabilities to ensure system reliability.
- Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, and error handling strategies across automation services.
- Collaborate closely with QA, Network Engineering, and DevOps teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions.
- Support the development of scalable, maintainable, and high-performance engineering solutions aligned with business goals.
