From broadband to broadcast, streaming to mobile, SkyQ to Sky Glass, we never stand still. We optimise and innovate. We turn big ideas into the products, content and services millions of people love. And we do it all right here at Sky.

About the role

Join us as a Software Engineer in Sky’s Content Platform, building and operating the systems that power content delivery at scale. From video ingest and encoding to metadata and distribution, you’ll work on high-impact services used by millions of customers while delivering reliable, scalable solutions in a fast-moving, cloud-native environment.

Please note – this is a hybrid role with an on-call rotation twice a month.

What you'll do

  • Build and operate Python-based services on AWS using microservices and event-driven architecture
  • Deliver independently deployable features with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and performance
  • Write clean, maintainable Python code and contribute to code reviews to maintain high engineering standards
  • Write comprehensive unit and functional tests to keep code quality
  • Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring, and production support, with out-of-hours participation where required
  • Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code
  • Work on systems supporting video ingest, encoding, metadata, and content distribution workflows
  • Use observability and metrics to identify issues and improve system performance
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and QA to deliver high-quality solutions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
