About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer (Backend) to join a forward-thinking engineering team on a remote basis, with quarterly planning sessions held in Bristol. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a new service platform centered around CRM-related functionalities. As part of this greenfield project, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that support customer-facing applications and internal processes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building robust, cloud-native applications and possess a product-focused mindset, eager to make a tangible impact within a dynamic and collaborative environment. This contract position is initially set for six months, with the potential for multi-year extension, offering an attractive remuneration of 600 per day via inside IR35 through an umbrella company.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in backend development with significant experience working in Python. Proven expertise within AWS cloud environments is essential, along with a solid understanding of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL, or NoSQL databases like DynamoDB. Candidates should have a track record of building and supporting production-grade backend services, with the ability to operate effectively in a hands-on development environment. Excellent problem-solving skills, coupled with a product-oriented approach, are crucial. Experience working within Agile teams and familiarity with modern development practices will be highly valued. Additional knowledge of DynamoDB, event-driven architecture, microservices, distributed systems, and CRM platforms will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of key tasks, including:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Python.
- Building scalable APIs and event-driven services that support customer-facing applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Developing and optimizing data solutions within AWS cloud environments.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams—including product managers, engineers, and frontend developers—to deliver new platform capabilities.
- Contributing to architecture decisions, establishing best practices for service development.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives aimed at automation and engineering excellence.
- Engaging actively in Agile ceremonies.
- Fostering a collaborative engineering culture to drive project success and ensure alignment across teams.
