A Senior Python Engineer with a strong systems architecture and computing mindset is needed for a Trading Intelligence startup redefining institutional execution. Combining the agility of a small startup with the backing of a FTSE 250 commodity brokerage, they are replacing fragmented manual spreadsheets and disparate trader chats with a unified, AI-driven terminal. This high-impact role involves designing scalable data flows, building real-time intelligence engines, and delivering platforms used directly by institutional desks.
Senior Software Engineer | Systems Architecture | Trading Tech | Up to £120,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Founded by an ex-hedge fund leader, the platform leverages ML and agentic workflows to flag automated buy/sell signals by ingesting real-time communication feeds (WhatsApp, market commentary) alongside live data. Operating in a zero-bureaucracy environment, the firm is heavily investing in applied AI and robust backend infrastructure. A true Systems & Software Engineer is needed to take direct architectural control across the full software lifecycle.

Senior Software Engineer:
- 💰 Up to £120,000 + Min. 15% Bonus + FTSE 250 Benefits Package

- 🛠️ Architecture: Deep Python engineering alongside Rust, Go, or Core Java; systems computing fundamentals (memory, runtimes, OS); PostgreSQL schema design; real-time streaming APIs; and LLM tool-calling (LangChain).

With rapid commercial adoption, the company is undertaking a comprehensive build-out of its core intelligence platform. The focus of the role is architecting robust data ingestion pipelines and scaling high-throughput backend services, ensuring trading desks receive low-latency, high-integrity automated signals ahead of major market movements.
As a Senior Engineer, you will:
- Take ownership of backend architecture, scaling data models, and system design using Python, PostgreSQL, and modern systems tooling.
- Architect robust data ingestion pipelines that aggregate unstructured, multi-channel messaging into high-integrity data streams.
- Integrate LangChain and ML pipelines to detect market movements and deliver real-time buy/sell alerts to live traders.
- Champion engineering best practices, maintain system reliability, and help steer technical decisions alongside Rust, Go, or Core Java components.
