About The Role
Quant Capital is seeking a Junior Python Django Developer to join their high-profile development team. This is an exciting greenfield opportunity to be part of a start-up that is pioneering new concepts in large social data analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with founders, UI/UX designers, and other technical staff to develop a robust enterprise-grade platform written primarily in Python and Django, with components utilizing Twisted and NoSQL databases. The role offers a unique chance to influence the architecture of a disruptive product and to be involved in innovative social data solutions. As part of a fast-paced, agile environment, you will evaluate and implement new technologies, prototype solutions, and contribute to shaping the future of social data analytics.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess some commercial experience in Python and Django development. As a full-stack developer, demonstrable skills in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS are essential. Exposure to Python data science libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, and IPython is highly desirable, especially for sourcing, cleaning, and manipulating large datasets. A strong understanding of agile development methodologies, enthusiasm for open-source solutions, and the ability to adapt to evolving requirements are important. Candidates should have a proactive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovative technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies to implement product features effectively.
- Collaborate closely with founders, UI/UX designers, and other technical team members to develop and refine the platform.
- Contribute to the design and development of enterprise-grade software using Python, Django, Twisted, and NoSQL databases.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and retaining development staff to build a high-performing team.
- Prototype new features and technologies to improve product performance and scalability.
- Leverage open-source tools and libraries to deliver efficient and innovative solutions.
- Participate in agile development cycles, providing regular updates and collaborating on iterative improvements.
- Help shape the architecture of the platform by evangelizing new technologies and best practices.
