About The Role
AMS CWS is supporting a leading global consulting firm in the recruitment of an experienced Python Developer for an initial 12-month contract. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled developer to work on designing and developing Python-based solutions that meet diverse client needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating scalable, efficient, and robust applications, collaborating closely with client teams across multiple industries. The position requires a proactive individual who can engage directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver high-quality code. Due to the nature of the role, extensive UK travel—up to 80%—and regular on-site client visits are expected.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial experience in Python development, demonstrating proficiency in building and maintaining complex applications. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with clients and cross-functional teams. Candidates should be comfortable working in a consulting environment, managing multiple priorities, and adapting to different client requirements. Relevant qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with proven experience in Python programming, API development, and software lifecycle management. Familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python applications and microservices that align with client specifications.
- Engage directly with clients to understand their requirements and provide technical solutions that add value.
- Collaborate effectively with Business Analysts, Architects, and Project Managers to ensure project success.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing applications.
- Ensure timely delivery of solutions while maintaining high quality and performance standards.
- Travel extensively within the UK to meet client needs and support project deployment and maintenance.
