About The Role
Ocho is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join their talented team of professionals. This is a hands-on role that requires a highly skilled individual capable of designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Python and a strong understanding of cloud-based technologies such as AWS. You will work closely with a small, agile team responsible for creating cutting-edge IoT solutions that are both innovative and reliable. This role offers the flexibility of fully remote work across Northern Ireland, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life while contributing to groundbreaking projects. As part of Ocho’s team, you will have the opportunity to work on greenfield projects—building solutions from scratch that have the potential to revolutionize industries and set new standards in IoT technology.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior or Principal Python Developer, with a strong portfolio of scalable and high-performance applications.
- Excellent proficiency in Python, with the ability to write clear, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS, including services like DynamoDB and GraphQL.
- Solid understanding of database management systems, such as PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Experience with other technologies such as Go programming language, AWS, and modern development practices is a plus.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
- Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing workload independently, taking ownership of projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Python and related technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate them into robust solutions.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of new IoT products, ensuring they meet performance and security standards.
- Write clear and comprehensive technical documentation to facilitate ongoing development and maintenance.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices into development processes.
- Assist in deploying applications on cloud platforms like AWS, leveraging services such as DynamoDB and GraphQL.
- Support the team in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly.
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to foster a collaborative learning environment.
