About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled SC Cleared Python Engineer to join our team on an initial five-month contract. This fully remote role offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that require a strong focus on secure Python solutions, automation, and platform integration. As a Python Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing secure Python packages, managing CI/CD pipelines, and automating deployment processes to support development teams. Your expertise will contribute to building reliable, scalable, and user-friendly solutions that align with security standards and best practices.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in Python development, with proven experience in package management, dependency handling, and internal library management using tools such as pip, PyPI, and Conda. Candidates should demonstrate strong engineering capabilities, including designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automation workflows, and artifact repositories. Experience with containerization technologies and reproducible development environments across Windows, WSL, Linux, and container platforms is essential. A thorough understanding of security protocols, including SSO, RBAC, security scanning, and API integration, is required. Knowledge of SBOMs, provenance, and policy-as-code will be advantageous. Additionally, candidates must hold an active SC Clearance to qualify for this role.

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain secure Python and package management golden paths to ensure consistency and security across development environments.
- Develop curated package repositories and controlled publishing workflows to streamline package distribution and management.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates, and developer tooling to facilitate efficient and reliable deployment processes.
- Integrate platform services with identity, security, and runtime environments to ensure seamless and secure operations.
- Develop automated onboarding processes and self-service capabilities to improve developer experience and reduce manual intervention.
- Support reproducible development environments across various platforms, including Windows, WSL, Linux, and containerized setups.
- Troubleshoot developer issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to reduce reliance on workarounds and manual fixes.
- Enhance platform reliability, build success rates, performance, and overall supportability through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to ensure team members are well-informed and capable.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to gather feedback, prioritize improvements, and implement best practices for platform development.
