About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled SC Cleared Python Engineer to join our dynamic team on an initial five-month contract. This fully remote position offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge secure Python solutions within a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will focus on developing, maintaining, and improving secure Python packages, automation workflows, and CI/CD pipelines. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability, security, and efficiency of our development platforms, supporting cross-functional teams including engineering, security, and platform specialists. This role requires a proactive approach, technical expertise, and a passion for creating scalable and robust solutions in a secure setting.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong Python development skills with demonstrable experience managing packages, dependencies, and internal libraries using tools such as pip, PyPI, and Conda. A solid background in Python engineering, package management, and automation is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, working with containerized environments, and developing automated onboarding and self-service tools. A good understanding of security principles, including SSO, RBAC, security scanning, and API integration, is required. Knowledge of SBOMs, provenance, and policy-as-code will be advantageous. Additionally, the candidate must hold an active SC (Security Check) clearance to meet security requirements for this role.

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain secure Python and package management golden paths, ensuring best practices are followed across development teams.
- Develop curated package repositories and controlled publishing workflows to streamline package management and deployment.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates, and developer tooling to facilitate efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Integrate platform services with identity management, security protocols, and runtime environments to enhance platform security and usability.
- Create automated onboarding processes and self-service capabilities to improve developer experience and reduce manual intervention.
- Support reproducible development environments across multiple platforms including Windows, WSL, Linux, and containerized environments.
- Troubleshoot developer issues, identify bottlenecks, and reduce reliance on workarounds to improve overall platform stability.
- Enhance platform reliability, build success rates, performance, and supportability through continuous improvements.
- Produce clear, comprehensive technical documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer within teams.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to gather feedback, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to the platform.

Benefits
This role offers competitive daily rates within the inside IR35 scope, ranging from 400 to 575 per day, providing a flexible and rewarding contract opportunity.
