About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled SC Cleared Python Engineer to join our team on an initial five-month contract. This fully remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on developing and enhancing secure Python solutions within a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will focus on Python engineering, package management, CI/CD automation, and platform integration, working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, security, and platform specialists. The role requires a proactive approach to building reliable, user-friendly solutions that support development teams and improve platform stability and security.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong Python development skills
- Extensive experience in managing packages, dependencies, and internal libraries using tools such as pip, PyPI, and Conda
- A solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and artifact repositories
- Experience working with containers and creating reproducible development environments across multiple platforms, including Windows, WSL, Linux, and containerized systems
- Knowledge of security protocols such as SSO, RBAC, security scanning, and API integration
- Familiarity with SBOMs, provenance, and policy-as-code is highly desirable

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must hold active SC clearance to be eligible for consideration.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain secure Python and package management golden paths to ensure consistency and security across development workflows.
- Develop curated package repositories and controlled publishing workflows to streamline package distribution and version control.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates, and developer tooling to facilitate efficient and reliable software deployment.
- Integrate platform services with identity management, security frameworks, and runtime environments to enhance platform security and usability.
- Develop automated onboarding processes and self-service capabilities to empower development teams and reduce manual intervention.
- Support reproducible development environments across various operating systems and containerized platforms, ensuring consistency and stability.
- Troubleshoot developer issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to reduce reliance on workarounds and improve overall developer experience.
- Enhance platform reliability, build success rates, performance, and supportability through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce clear, comprehensive technical documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to ensure team members are well-informed and capable.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to gather feedback, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions to meet evolving project needs.
