Senior Python Software Engineer
London | Hybrid (3 days per week) | Permanent
We're working with an innovative fintech company that develops software used by investment management firms to automate complex reporting, document generation and client communications.
Their platform is used by leading financial institutions and they're investing heavily in the next generation of their product suite.
As part of a small, highly collaborative engineering team, you'll have genuine influence over architecture, technical direction and product development. This is an opportunity to work on greenfield features as well as enhance an established platform, taking ownership from design through to production.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, building and maintaining scalable backend applications in Python
- Developing new product features from concept through to production
- Working closely with Product and stakeholders to shape technical solutions
- Building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Contributing to architecture and engineering best practices
- Improving application performance, scalability and reliability
- Participating in code reviews and mentoring where appropriate
- Working across the full software development lifecycle in a collaborative product environment

We're looking for someone with
- Strong commercial experience developing applications in Python
- Commercial Django experience
- Experience building scalable backend applications and APIs
- Experience working on SaaS or product-focused platforms
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
- A collaborative approach and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code
- Experience working within Agile engineering teams
