QA Automation Engineer – Business Central (BC)

12-Month FTC | £65,000–£75,000 | Fully Remote – UK

We are working with a growing UK retail business that is investing heavily in its internal technology platforms and looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to help establish and shape its testing capability.

This isn't a role where you'll be stepping into an established QA function. You'll have the opportunity to build the approach from the ground up – defining practical testing processes, implementing Leapwork as the automated testing platform and developing automated regression coverage across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and a range of internal web applications.

The initial focus will be getting Leapwork implemented and delivering the first automated tests within the first three months, before expanding coverage and embedding a sustainable QA approach across the wider technology team.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the end-to-end implementation of Leapwork, including platform setup, environments, reusable automation standards and integration with Azure DevOps / CI/CD.
  • Build automated regression coverage across key Business Central processes including finance, purchasing, inventory and order-to-cash.
  • Establish a practical QA and testing process covering test planning, test cases, defect management, test data and release sign-off.
  • Create a repeatable testing approach for Business Central updates and release waves before changes reach production.
  • Extend automated testing across internal web applications and integrations.
  • Remain hands-on with functional and exploratory testing while automated coverage is being developed.
  • Work closely with developers, analysts and business users, helping the wider team take greater ownership of quality.
  • Establish meaningful quality metrics and documentation, leaving behind a testing capability the internal team can continue to develop after the contract.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Significant hands-on experience testing Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV.
  • Experience introducing QA processes and automation into an environment where testing capability was previously limited.
  • Hands-on Leapwork experience, or strong experience with a comparable low-code automation platform and the ability to pick Leapwork up quickly.
  • Good functional knowledge of ERP processes across finance, inventory, purchasing and sales order management.
  • Experience automating web application testing.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps.
  • The confidence to take ownership of a project and work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with the AL Test Framework / Business Central Test Toolkit, Playwright, Selenium or API testing would be beneficial, as would a background within retail, wholesale, e-commerce or multi-site environments.

This is a chance to have genuine ownership rather than simply maintain an existing test suite. You'll be responsible for shaping how QA is done, introducing the automation platform and building a testing capability that will continue to be used after the initial 12-month engagement.

The position is fully remote anywhere in the UK, offering a salary of £65,000–£75,000 on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

If you're an experienced Business Central / Dynamics NAV QA professional looking for a role where you can build something from the ground up, please apply for immediate consideration.
