Overview
Quest Software is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to help define and advance AI-first QA automation practices for our industry-leading On Demand Migration product on the Microsoft Azure platform. This role is intended for an experienced QA automation engineer who combines strong QA skills with automation experience in C#/.NET, Azure, cloud architecture, and hands-on experience using AI coding agents, AI-assisted development platforms, and agentic development workflows in production software engineering.
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to work in our market leading On Demand Migration SaaS offering. This team member will implement system test cases and automated product tests and create and manage cloud-based quality assurance labs utilizing the latest technologies and best practices. Responsibilities
- Contribute to the adoption of AI-first QA automation practices across the project team.
- Use AI coding agents and AI-assisted development platforms extensively in day-to-day product engineering, including solution design, implementation, automated testing, debugging, troubleshooting, refactoring, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Design reusable prompts, agent instructions, automation workflows, validation steps, and guardrails that enable consistent and responsible AI-assisted software development.
- Build, test, document, and maintain QA/QC systems for several products in an Agile lifecycle using C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Contribute as a member of an agile SCRUM team and be motivated to produce high-quality product releases with low defect rates by utilizing the latest QA/QC best practices
Qualifications
Required:
- Completion of a computer science undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years working experience in commercial software development
- Demonstrated professional experience using AI coding agents, AI-assisted development tools, or agentic automation workflows as a substantial part of real software development work.
- Advanced practical experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, or comparable AI-powered development platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI coding tools to improve software design, implementation productivity, code quality, automated testing, debugging, troubleshooting, refactoring, code review, or technical documentation.
- Experience maintaining and extending product QA/QC environments with techniques such as mocking, automation, integration testing, code coverage
- Experience with ad-hoc testing of applications on Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
- Knowledge of virtual machines, networking, and cloud environments, to be able to provision, configure, and secure complex test environments in the cloud
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Able to help replicate and diagnose customer issues for the development team.
- Demonstrated experience with source control (Git) and issue tracking (Azure DevOps) systems in a team environment
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment

Nice to Have:
- Experience in Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint and/or Teams.
- Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
- Experience with Selenium or similar test automation tools.
- Experience developing and maintaining YAML CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, or similar systems.
