QA Automation Engineer – Newcastle (Hybrid Remote) - £45k
Ownership of Framework | 1dpw in office | Flexible Schedule | AI-Enabled | Growth Opportunity
Ada Meher is currently working with a SaaS business in Newcastle which is scaling at about 30% year on year as they continue to develop their product suite. As part of this continued growth, they are looking to add a QA Automation Engineer to take ownership of their automation framework from the QA Lead and evolve it along with the product.
The automation framework is currently built with C# & Selenium, so skills in this area are a must, but they are open to moving towards a JavaScript/Typescript based solution using Cypress/Playwright longer term and would welcome candidates who also want to make this transition. They are also very pro-AI and would welcome candidates who are exploring what that can do to help improve the efficiency and quality of their work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
