Overview
We’re currently supporting a growing consultancy that is investing heavily in the modernisation of its digital platforms and internal product ecosystem.
The team is looking for an experienced QA Engineer who can take ownership of Cypress automation frameworks, shape testing standards, and use AI tooling to improve engineering productivity. You'll work closely with developers throughout the software delivery lifecycle, helping build quality into products rather than testing it at the end.
The Role
You'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks while working alongside developers, product teams, and stakeholders to improve release quality and delivery speed. This role combines hands-on automation engineering with the opportunity to influence testing strategy, framework design, and engineering best practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable Cypress automation frameworks.
- Develop automated UI, API, and regression test suites across modern web applications.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback on every release.
- Work closely with developers during refinement and throughout delivery to ensure quality is built into solutions from the outset.
- Use AI-assisted tooling to improve test creation, documentation, and engineering efficiency while maintaining appropriate review processes.
- Help define QA standards, framework architecture, and automation best practices across the engineering team.
Key Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Cypress, including designing and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of API testing using tools such as Postman or Swagger.
- Experience working within Agile software delivery teams alongside developers and Product Owners.
- Exposure to AI tooling such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or ChatGPT within an engineering environment.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence engineering teams and challenge quality standards where appropriate.
