The role
Are you a QA Automation Engineer who loves building reliable test automation, improving quality, and exploring smarter ways to test?
We are looking for a confident and detail-driven QA Automation Engineer to join our Software team in Beaconsfield. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied technology landscape, supporting the development and delivery of intranet, web, desktop and mobile solutions used across financial services and the film, television and media industries.
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting agile software development by creating, maintaining and evolving automated test frameworks and test cases. You will work with a high level of autonomy, helping define test strategies, execute test plans and ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability and usability.
What you will be doing:
- Creating, maintaining and developing robust automation frameworks.
- Designing automated testing architecture and expanding automated test coverage using Cypress or other agreed tools.
- Executing system, integration, regression, functional, interface, acceptance, performance, API and security testing.
- Using tools such as Jira, TestRail and Confluence to manage defects, test assets and documentation.
- Analysing business requirements and translating them into effective test strategies and plans.
- Exploring practical AI driven testing approaches, including AI assisted test case generation, test data creation, result analysis and visual or regression checks.
- Working closely with developers and QA colleagues to troubleshoot issues, improve processes and support knowledge sharing across the team.

What we are looking for:
- At least 5 years’ experience in software testing, including 2 or more years focused on test automation.
- Strong experience creating and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Hands on knowledge of end-to-end automation tools, ideally Cypress.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Good understanding of performance testing, API testing, UX/UI testing, BDD and TDD approaches.
- Working knowledge of JSON, SQL and modern software testing practices.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Comfort using AI tools to support testing activities, with the judgement to review and validate AI generated output.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

It would be a bonus if you have:
- Experience testing or reconciling financial systems, reports, payroll or auto enrolment systems.
- Skills in Java, JavaScript or Python.
- Knowledge of automated API or endpoint testing, ideally REST assured.
- Experience with microservice testing.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
