About Aflac
While Aflac are a Fortune 500 U.S. company and one of the largest brands in the US and Japan, there is a very good chance you’ve not heard of us (yet). Here’s the deal: We help people cover medical expenses beyond their standard health insurance, and when they come to us they really need us. So, in Belfast, we’ve been building great technology since 2019 to support our customers in their time of need.
Role Context
We are looking for a talented, tech enthusiast to join one of our software engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be eager about quality, automation, and leveraging GenAI to reduce risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Functional, workflow, and end-to-end testing of customer facing solutions. Including creation of automated tests where it makes sense.
- Provide best practice, shift-left coaching to developers to promote defensive coding habits.
- Facilitate example mapping sessions to help build complete picture of user story requirements.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
