About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior QA Engineer to join a prominent Aerospace business based in the Luton area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical quality assurance processes within a dynamic and innovative environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring that all design, development, and production activities comply with regulatory standards such as EASA and CAA, as well as customer requirements. The position is on a 12-month contract basis, with a hybrid working model that combines remote work with onsite presence, providing flexibility and work-life balance. The role requires individuals who are proactive, detail-oriented, and possess a deep understanding of aerospace quality standards and practices, ready to start as soon as possible.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a quality assurance role within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, with Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certifications preferred.
- Strong knowledge of APQP tools, including PPAP, FMEA, and MSA.
- Working familiarity with AS9100 QMS and ISO9001 standards, including deployment and compliance.
- Understanding of aerospace regulatory requirements, specifically EASA/CAA Part 21J and/or Part 21G.
- Experience in internal and external auditing processes, with the ability to manage audit findings and NCRs effectively.
- Knowledge of configuration and data management systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications accurately.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the site champion for quality, facilitating root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to resolve issues effectively.
- Ensure all design, design change, and technical documentation for products meet airworthiness standards set by EASA/CAA and customer specifications when collaborating with Part 21G organizations.
- Support design reviews at Preliminary and Critical Design Review stages, integrating quality, safety, and manufacturability considerations into the initial design process.
- Analyze production defects, perform RCA, and implement corrective actions to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Lead the APQP process, enabling manufacturing techniques within the Part 21G organization and ensuring robust deployment across projects.
- Develop and deploy strategies for APQP tools, especially for New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
- Support DFMEA/PFMEA activities aimed at industrialization improvements and enhancing organizational performance.
- Compile and manage internal/external FAIRS and PPAP documentation, providing status updates and ensuring compliance.
- Engage with customers to address quality escapes, obtain customer approvals, and support quality-related requests within specific programs.
- Assist in preparing for and supporting EASA, CAA, ISO9001, and AS9100 audits, including NCR management and follow-up sessions to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.
