Mane Contract Services is a renowned leader in providing specialized staffing solutions within the defence, aerospace, and highly regulated manufacturing sectors. With a strong reputation for connecting talented professionals with top-tier organisations, Mane Contract Services is committed to delivering excellence through its extensive network, industry expertise, and dedication to client satisfaction. The company prides itself on fostering a collaborative environment that values integrity, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring both clients and candidates achieve their strategic objectives.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our client's dynamic team based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to some of the UK's most advanced defence manufacturing programmes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing quality standards across complex engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as AS9100. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and managing non-conformance processes to uphold the integrity of the manufacturing lifecycle.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quality assurance within regulated manufacturing environments, preferably in defence or aerospace sectors. Relevant qualifications include an engineering, manufacturing, or quality-related degree (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent). Candidates should have proven experience in managing non-conformance and RCCA activities, interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications, and developing control plans. Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, and understanding of industry standards like AS9102 are highly desirable. Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
