This is a high-impact opportunity to establish and shape the quality engineering function for a rapidly growing SaaS product.
As the first dedicated QA Engineer, you will own the testing strategy and build automated quality practices from the ground up.
- You will design comprehensive functional, regression, and end-to-end test coverage across a modern web-based platform.
- Working closely with engineering and product teams, you will identify risks early and help deliver reliable features with greater confidence and speed.
- The role combines hands-on automation with the opportunity to define QA standards, documentation, and best practices across the organization.
- As the product and team grow, you will have the opportunity to hire, mentor, and eventually lead a dedicated QA team.
This position is ideal for a quality-focused engineer who thrives in fast-moving startup environments and enjoys taking ownership of complex challenges.

- Own the QA function as the first dedicated Quality Engineer, establishing testing strategies, processes, standards, and best practices from the ground up.
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automated end-to-end test suites covering user interfaces, workflows, and APIs.
- Build functional and regression testing coverage to ensure product stability as new features and releases are introduced.
- Develop automation scripts capable of reliably handling dynamic and asynchronous web elements.
- Use modern automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
- Partner closely with engineering and product teams to identify high-risk areas, prioritize testing efforts, and strengthen overall product quality.
- Investigate issues and create clear, detailed, and reproducible bug reports to accelerate resolution.
- Establish and maintain QA documentation, testing guidelines, and repeatable quality assurance processes.
- Help integrate quality practices earlier into the development lifecycle to identify defects before they reach production.
- Monitor and continuously improve automated test coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency.
- As the organization scales, contribute to building the QA function by hiring, mentoring, and leading additional quality engineering talent.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
