About The Role
We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our dynamic team working on cutting-edge cybersecurity SaaS products. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Newbury, Berkshire, offering a hybrid working environment. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, security, and reliability of our software solutions. You will be responsible for executing comprehensive testing strategies, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating closely with development, product, and support teams to enhance overall product quality. Your work will directly impact the user experience, security posture, and scalability of our products, making this a highly influential role within our organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical skills and hands-on experience, including:
- Proven experience testing SaaS software products, with strong system, functional, and regression testing skills.
- Knowledge of networking protocols, analytics, and packet tracing.
- Experience working with Jira and Confluence for test management and documentation.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools and test automation frameworks.
- Proficiency across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
- Scripting skills in Python and/or Bash for automation purposes.
- Excellent defect reporting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Organized, methodical, and thorough approach to testing processes.
- Proactive learner with a passion for continuous improvement and process enhancement.
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Pragmatic mindset balancing quality, risk, and delivery objectives effectively.

Desirable qualifications include experience testing cybersecurity products, knowledge of security testing techniques, API and performance testing, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-hosted SaaS platforms. Certifications such as ISTQB or equivalent are also advantageous.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for the QA Engineer include:
- Deliver comprehensive testing outputs aligned with tickets, stories, and release plans.
- Conduct system, functional, and regression testing across SaaS applications to ensure product stability and performance.
- Identify, document, and validate defects with clear and accurate reporting, facilitating efficient resolution.
- Support and contribute to test automation initiatives, helping to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and support staff to enhance product quality and security.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, supporting release planning and continuous improvement.
- Explore potential risks and edge cases by challenging assumptions and investigating failure points to enhance security and user experience.
