ABOUT THE ROLE
As a QA Engineer at HBSUK, you will be responsible for the manual verification and validation of many aspects of the HBS platform, working alongside developers, product, and the rest of the QA team to see features through from ideation to release.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities of a QA engineer at HBS UK include:
- Understanding and contribution of BDD manual scripts for work items in agile scrum sprints, ensuring all acceptance criteria, edge cases, preconditions, and gotchas have been covered and fully tested.
- Contribution to reviewing the BDD scripts written by peers and moving team scripts out of draft.
- Able to identify and raise issues in the system as bugs, with high levels of information and reproducibility.
- Contributes to team documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Cross discipline communication to ensure shared understanding of tickets and what needs to be tested, along with advocating for important work items in agile scrum ceremonies.
- Contribution to completion of manual regression testing efforts to sign off major and other releases, ensuring all traceability and evidence follows our processes and standards.
- Assists with UAT/Release testing where needed.

FLEXIBILITY
This job profile is not intended to be exhaustive, and it is likely that duties may be altered from time to time in the light of changing circumstances, in discussion with the post holder. This role profile is intended to provide a broad outline of the main responsibilities only. The role is UK-wide and fully remote, with the expectations of travelling into office for large team events infrequently throughout the year.
EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Writing manual test scripts to cover work item acceptance criteria
- Executing manual tests
- Raising and reproducing bugs
DESIRABLE
- Working in an agile scrum environment or similar
- Involvement in team ceremonies such as refinements and planning sessions
- Experience working with web applications
- Experience working with healthcare-focus applications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Some knowledge of reading and writing BDD test scripts
- Familiarity with devtools to inspect elements and network traffic
- Using a test management system such as Zephyr
- Understanding of API-driven front-ends and how to test them
