About The Role
We are currently recruiting for a QA Engineer to support an ongoing industrial project. This is a long-term contract role offering consistent hours, overtime opportunities, and weekend work on a rotational basis. The role will be site-based, overseeing the quality and compliance of electrical installation works within an industrial environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that electrical installations meet all safety, quality, and regulatory standards, contributing to the successful delivery of the project.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience working as a QA/QC Engineer within an industrial, electrical, or heavy engineering environment.
- A strong understanding of electrical installation and testing procedures.
- Good knowledge of BS7671 and relevant electrical standards.
- Relevant electrical or engineering qualifications.
- Additional certifications such as the 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification being highly advantageous.
- The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality assurance.
- Experience reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation.
- Experience inspecting electrical installations including SWA cabling, containment, glanding, and termination.
- The ability to identify and manage non-conformances, defects, and snags effectively.
- Flexibility to work long hours, including weekend overtime.

Responsibilities
The QA Engineer will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and inspecting electrical installation works to ensure they adhere to project specifications and quality standards.
- Reviewing electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and installation documentation to verify compliance.
- Conducting quality inspections and checks throughout the installation process, ensuring all work aligns with BS7671 requirements and project standards.
- Reviewing and verifying Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and associated quality documentation.
- Inspecting electrical testing and inspection records, including test certificates.
- Managing and recording snags, defects, and non-conformances.
- Collaborating with electricians, supervisors, engineers, and project management to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintaining accurate QA/QC records and ensuring all documentation is completed correctly.
- Supporting the handover process by ensuring installations are fully inspected, tested, and documented.
- Ensuring all works are completed in line with site health and safety procedures, fostering a safe working environment.

The role requires working 10-hour days with overtime opportunities and every other weekend work to meet project deadlines and requirements.
