QA Engineer
Cardiff - Office - Hybrid Working
Up to £45,000 + Annual Bonus
CPS Group are supporting a Financial Services organisation experiencing recent growth, who are looking to add an experienced QA Engineer to their team.
This is a hands-on position where you'll take ownership of testing throughout the development lifecycle, working closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure quality from requirements through to release.
The Role:
- Own the testing approach for features from requirements through to production.
- Design and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers.
- Work with Playwright or WebdriverIO, alongside Cucumber/BDD.
- Carry out manual, automated, API, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Use SQL to query relational databases and support test data requirements.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and potential issues early in the development process.
- Work with Git and CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing.
- Contribute to improvements across QA processes and testing standards.
- Support and mentor junior members of the QA team.

Essential Experience:
- Strong commercial experience across both manual and automated testing.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright or WebdriverIO.
- Experience with Cucumber or another BDD framework.
- Working knowledge of Java or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Solid API testing experience.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience taking ownership of testing for features through to quality sign-off.
- Performance testing experience.
- AWS or other cloud experience.
