About The Role
The QA/QC Engineer role at Dornan Engineering Services Ltd reports directly to the UK Quality Manager. This position operates within the framework of the ISO documented Quality Management System, specifically tailored for electrical project environments. The role involves overseeing the quality assurance and control processes during the installation of heavy electrical equipment, high voltage systems, and general electrical services. A primary responsibility includes generating, issuing, recording, and verifying punch lists for electrical systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in monitoring project controls, raising quality issues against OFCI vendors and contractors, and facilitating the resolution of these issues in a timely manner. The role requires close coordination with site teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. The QA/QC Engineer will also participate in quality review meetings, conduct walk-down inspections, and utilize web-based quality applications for reporting and documentation purposes.

Qualifications
- Relevant diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar QA/QC role within the construction or electrical project environment.
- Extensive experience with ISO 9001 quality standards and implementation.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation processes, and quality control procedures.
- Proficiency in using project management and quality control software tools.
Responsibilities
- Review and monitor project quality controls, ensuring adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Raise, track, and close out quality issues and punch lists for electrical systems, coordinating with vendors and contractors.
- Familiarize with the scope of each electrical system, project specifications, and installation procedures.
- Implement and oversee the site-specific quality plan, aligning with the overall project quality management system.
- Participate in quality review meetings with general contractors (GC) and clients to discuss progress and resolve issues.
- Provide feedback to line managers regarding the effectiveness of quality processes and suggest improvements.
- Generate quality statistics and reports for project tracking, monitoring, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Utilize web-based quality applications for reporting, documentation, and closing out actions.
- Coordinate with clients on scheduling walk-down inspections and participate in these inspections to verify compliance.
- Ensure timely resolution of quality issues, maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout the project.
