About The Role
Join a team helping to assure the quality, resilience and reliability of services that matter to the UK.
As a QA Engineer working on Mission Critical Services, you'll contribute to the delivery of high-quality technology solutions across complex operational environments. Working alongside software engineers, solution architects and operational stakeholders, you'll help ensure that solutions, platforms and services meet demanding standards before reaching customers and users.
We believe quality is built into products from the start rather than added at the end, and our QA Engineers play an active role throughout the engineering lifecycle.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of technologies, testing approaches and engineering challenges. Whether executing tests, improving quality processes, supporting automation initiatives or helping diagnose complex issues, you'll play an important role in maintaining the integrity of critical systems.
Note: This role requires eligibility for UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. As a result, applicants must typically be sole British citizens and have lived in the UK continuously for the previous 10 years, subject to UK Government vetting requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on your skills, interests and experience, you may:
- Design, develop and execute testing activities that support the delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Create, maintain and improve test environments, test cases, test data and quality assurance processes across a range of technology environments.
- Identify, investigate and help resolve defects, working collaboratively with engineering and delivery teams.
- Support integration, regression, functional and non-functional testing activities throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency and delivery confidence.
- Assess risks to quality and service performance, helping teams understand impacts and appropriate mitigations.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding testing outcomes, quality concerns and recommendations.
- Share knowledge, promote engineering best practice and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
No two careers in this space look identical —and that's part of what makes it interesting.
You might be a good fit if you're naturally curious about questions such as:
- How do you build confidence in technology that simply cannot fail?
- How do you prove a complex service is ready for the real world?
- What hidden risks exist inside large-scale technology environments?
- How do engineering teams balance quality, reliability and delivery speed?
- How can automation and human insight work together to improve outcomes?
- How do you turn curiosity and problem-solving into meaningful impact?
- How can I keep developing my skills while working on technology that truly matters?
What does great quality engineering look like in the age of AI? You don't need to have all the answers already. We're looking for people with curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

- Commitment to continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
