QA Automation Engineer
UP TO £75,000
London/Hybrid
The Overview
This is an opportunity to join a growing technology business where quality engineering is a key part of product development. You'll play a central role in building scalable test automation, reducing manual testing, and helping shape an AI-enabled approach to software quality within a modern engineering environment.

The Role
You will be responsible for driving test automation across web applications, APIs, and backend services while helping improve the overall quality engineering strategy.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining automated testing frameworks
- Creating automated tests for web applications and API services
- Supporting quality assurance across frontend and backend systems
- Performing regression, functional, and smoke testing
- Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Developers, and QA colleagues to ensure solutions are testable and scalable
- Using AI tools to improve testing efficiency, accelerate development cycles, and reduce repetitive manual work
- Contributing to CI/CD processes and quality gates within the software delivery lifecycle
- Supporting the development of a robust automation architecture that can scale with platform growth
- Helping improve data quality validation and testing processes

Your Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Java or Kotlin
- Experience building automated testing solutions from scratch or significantly enhancing existing frameworks
- Strong API testing experience using tools such as Rest Assured, Postman, or similar
- Experience testing JSON and XML payloads
- UI automation experience with Selenium, Playwright, or comparable tools
- Understanding of software testing principles, automation frameworks, and quality engineering best practices
- Experience working with Jira and Agile delivery environments
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Comfortable working across both frontend and backend systems
- Experience using AI tools within an engineering workflow
- Exposure to Claude and N8N is highly desirable
- Familiarity with SQL and data validation techniques
