About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer - Automation (API Testing) to join our client's dynamic team remotely from London. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks that enhance the quality and reliability of software products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to ensure seamless, secure, and high-quality releases. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing testing processes, reducing manual effort, and accelerating delivery cycles. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your automation skills in a fast-paced environment, supporting healthcare data systems where applicable, and making a significant impact on product quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks, with a strong focus on API testing. You should have solid programming skills in Java and Python, along with hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with SDLC/STLC and Agile methodologies is essential, as is the ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives that streamline testing processes. Candidates must demonstrate confidence in reviewing automation code, identifying issues early, and promoting best practices in test automation. Prior experience supporting healthcare data systems is a plus, but not mandatory. A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities
As a QA Engineer - Automation (API Testing), your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing and evolving automation strategies across various product areas such as API, UI, contract, and component testing.
- Building, developing, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks and scripts that ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Deep integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on optimizing parallel runs for deterministic and stable results.
- Investigating flaky tests, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to enhance test reliability.
- Troubleshooting complex automation failures and providing actionable recommendations.
- Creating meaningful reports that highlight real risks.
- Reviewing automation code for quality and maintainability.
- Mentoring junior and mid-level automation engineers.
- Collaborating with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to facilitate fast, stable, and trustworthy releases.
- Supporting compliance and security standards relevant to healthcare data systems.
