About The Role
We are currently offering a new contract opportunity for a senior-level QA Engineer to join a prominent aerospace business located in the Luton area. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the quality assurance processes within the organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting design reviews, facilitating root cause analysis, and overseeing quality management systems to uphold the highest standards of airworthiness and safety. The position offers a hybrid working model, providing flexibility and the chance to work with a leading aerospace company on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in aerospace QA, a strong understanding of regulatory standards, and the ability to lead quality initiatives effectively.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a QA role within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, with Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certifications being advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of APQP tools, including PPAP, FMEA, and MSA.
- Working understanding of AS9100 QMS and ISO9001 standards, including deployment and implementation.
- Familiarity with EASA/CAA Part 21J and Part 21G regulations.
- Experience in internal and external audits within aerospace environments.
- Configuration and data management expertise.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications accurately.

Responsibilities
- Act as site champion, facilitating and supporting root cause corrective actions to address quality issues effectively.
- Ensure all design, design change, and technical documentation for products meet airworthiness standards set by EASA/CAA Part 21J and customer specifications when working with Part 21G organizations.
- Support design reviews, including Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and all development program stages to integrate quality, safety, and manufacturability into initial designs.
- Conduct defect analysis within production organizations, supporting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions to improve customer feedback and product quality.
- Champion the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, enabling manufacturing techniques for Part 21G organizations and ensuring robust deployment across projects.
- Develop and deploy strategies for APQP tools to facilitate New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
- Support DFMEA and PFMEA activities for industrialization improvements and overall performance enhancement within Part 21G organizations.
- Compile and manage internal and external FAIRS/PPAP documentation, providing status reports as required.
- Engage with customers to address quality escapes and facilitate customer approvals in conjunction with specific program requirements.
- Support compliance with EASA, CAA, ISO9001, and AS9100 standards through audits, NCR closure, and follow-up sessions to ensure ongoing adherence to quality standards.

This role offers a highly competitive hourly rate between 50 to 55 pounds, a long-term 12-month contract, and flexible hybrid working arrangements.
