About The Role
Experis is currently seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer specializing in Automation with a focus on API Testing to join a reputable client remotely from London. This role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about automation, quality assurance, and continuous integration to contribute significantly to the development and deployment of reliable software solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks that enhance testing efficiency and reliability across various product areas, including APIs, UI, contracts, and components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers, to ensure seamless, high-quality releases. This position emphasizes the importance of integrating automation deeply into CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting complex automation issues, and promoting best practices in test automation to support scalable and maintainable solutions.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks, with a strong emphasis on API testing and automation. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python is essential, along with hands-on experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), with familiarity in Agile methodologies. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to review and improve automation code are critical. Experience working in regulated environments, such as healthcare data systems, and supporting compliance and security standards will be advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous improvement, mentoring junior team members, and fostering best practices in automation development.
Responsibilities
- Designing and evolving automation strategies tailored to the product area, including API, UI, contract, and component testing.
- Building, developing, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks and scripts.
- Integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines, optimizing parallel execution to achieve deterministic and stable outputs.
- Investigating flaky tests, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to improve reliability.
- Troubleshooting complex automation failures, providing comprehensive reports that highlight actual risks, and reviewing automation code to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Mentoring junior and mid-level automation engineers, creating reusable components, utilities, and libraries.
- Collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure fast, stable, and trustworthy releases.
- Supporting compliance and security standards relevant to healthcare data systems, where applicable.
