About The Role
The QA/QC Engineer will report directly to the UK Quality Manager and operate within the framework of the ISO-documented Quality Management System. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality standards are maintained throughout electrical project execution, particularly in environments involving the installation of heavy electrical equipment, high voltage systems, and general electrical services. The primary responsibility involves managing quality documentation, including generating, issuing, recording, and verifying punch lists for electrical systems. The role requires close coordination with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality procedures.
The QA/QC Engineer will be actively involved in reviewing and monitoring project controls, raising quality issues against vendors and contractors, and ensuring timely resolution of any non-conformances. The role also includes participating in quality review meetings, conducting walk-down inspections, and utilizing web-based quality applications for reporting and tracking. Qualifications
- A relevant Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar QA/QC role within the construction or electrical engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge and experience with ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems.
Responsibilities
- Review and monitor the project’s quality controls, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
- Raise, track, and close out quality issues and punch lists related to electrical systems, coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Familiarize with the scope of each electrical system, project specifications, and installation procedures.
- Implement and oversee the site-specific quality plan, aligning with the overall project quality strategy.
- Participate in quality review meetings with the general contractor (GC) and client, providing feedback and recommending improvements.
- Generate and analyze quality statistics for project tracking, including punch list status and inspection outcomes.
- Utilize web-based quality management applications to generate reports, document actions, and monitor progress.
- Coordinate with the client and project team on scheduled walk-down inspections and quality audits.
- Attend walk-down inspections with the GC and client, ensuring all quality standards are met before project completion.
