About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer specializing in Automation with a focus on API testing to join our team remotely from London. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks that ensure the reliability and quality of our client's software products. Your expertise will help streamline testing processes, improve test coverage, and integrate automation deeply into our CI/CD pipelines, enabling faster and more dependable releases. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to identify potential issues early, troubleshoot complex automation failures, and promote best practices in test automation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge healthcare data systems and other critical applications, ensuring they meet stringent security and compliance standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in designing and maintaining robust automation frameworks, with a strong focus on API testing. You should have a solid understanding of programming languages such as Java and Python, enabling you to develop efficient automation scripts and utilities. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines is essential, demonstrating your ability to integrate automated tests seamlessly into deployment workflows. Familiarity with SDLC/STLC and Agile methodologies is required, along with a passion for continuous improvement and code quality. You should be confident in reviewing automation code, identifying issues early, and promoting best coding practices among team members. Additional qualifications include excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and process enhancement.

Responsibilities
- Design and evolve comprehensive automation strategies for various product components, including API, UI, contract, and other testing areas.
- Build, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and scripts to support ongoing testing activities.
- Integrate automation tools deeply into CI/CD pipelines, optimizing for parallel execution to ensure deterministic and stable outputs.
- Investigate flaky tests, identify root causes, and implement strategies to improve stability and reliability standards.
- Troubleshoot complex automation failures, diagnose issues, and recommend effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Generate meaningful and insightful reports that highlight real risks, providing stakeholders with clear visibility into testing outcomes.
- Review automation code for quality, provide mentorship to junior and mid-level automation engineers, and promote best practices in coding and testing.
- Create reusable components, utilities, and libraries to improve efficiency, maintainability, and scalability of automation efforts.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure rapid, stable, and trustworthy software releases.
- Support compliance and security standards relevant to healthcare data systems, where applicable, ensuring all automation practices meet regulatory requirements.
