About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer specializing in Automation with a focus on API Testing to join our client's dynamic team remotely from London. This role is designed for professionals who are passionate about building reliable automation frameworks, enhancing quality feedback loops, and supporting seamless software delivery. As a key member of the QA team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation strategies across various product areas, including API, UI, contract, and components. Your expertise will directly contribute to ensuring the stability, security, and quality of our client's software releases.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks, with a strong emphasis on API testing and automation. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python is essential, along with hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. A solid understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile methodologies is required to facilitate continuous improvement. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to review automation code critically, identify issues early, and promote best practices in test automation. Experience supporting or supporting teams in healthcare data systems compliance and security is a plus, although not mandatory.

Responsibilities
- Designing and evolving automation strategies for various product areas, including API, UI, contract, and components.
- Developing and maintaining test automation frameworks and scripts, ensuring they are integrated deeply into CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable deployment cycles.
- Investigating flaky tests, identifying root causes, and driving improvements to enhance test stability.
- Troubleshooting complex automation failures and recommending corrective actions to maintain high standards of quality.
- Providing detailed and meaningful reports that highlight real risks, not just raw data, to inform decision-making processes.
- Reviewing automation code and mentoring junior or mid-level automation engineers to foster team growth and maintain coding standards.
- Creating reusable components, utilities, and libraries to improve the overall efficiency and maintainability of automation assets.
- Collaborating with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to ensure fast, stable, and trustworthy releases.
- Supporting compliance and security standards relevant to healthcare data systems if applicable.
