Quality Assurance Officer
Based at Dungeness A Power Station, this permanent role will put you at the heart of site delivery, helping project teams maintain the standards, controls and reliable records needed to complete complex work safely and successfully.
You will have the scope to work across different projects and disciplines, rather than being tied to one technical area. From assurance reviews and audits to project records, corrective actions and continuous improvement, you will help identify issues early, guide teams through quality requirements and make a visible difference to how work is delivered across the site.
What You Will Be Doing
You will provide practical quality assurance support to project and programme teams across Dungeness A, helping them understand and apply quality requirements from the outset. Rather than simply reviewing work once it has been completed, you will work closely with operational, engineering and project colleagues to prevent problems, identify emerging risks and make sure the right evidence is captured throughout each stage of delivery.
Assurance and auditing will be central to your work. You will review documents, records and activities against approved procedures, using evidence to identify defects, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement before they become wider issues. You will also support internal audits, inspections, external assurance activity and actions arising from ISO certification or regulatory visits, bringing openness, objectivity and attention to detail when something needs to be addressed.
Working within NRS’s established quality management system, you will help teams maintain the connection between requirements, controlled documents, project decisions and final records. This is a varied role combining detailed independent review with hands-on site engagement, where you will ask the right questions, provide constructive challenge and help delivery teams resolve quality concerns in a practical way.

Who Are We Looking For?
It is necessary to be educated to minimum of NFQ Level 5, such as an NVQ Level 5 or HND, as well as hold a relevant certificate in Quality Assurance, Environmental Management or Safety.
You will have experience in quality assurance, quality engineering, compliance, inspection, document control, project assurance or another position involving controlled processes, accurate records and detailed review. You will understand quality assurance principles and how to work effectively within an established quality management system, with practical knowledge of ISO 9001 particularly valuable. Formal auditing experience would be beneficial, but we would still like to hear from you if your background includes compliance reviews, inspections, document checks, corrective actions or investigating issues against approved procedures.
As well as that, you will need to be analytical, conscientious and comfortable taking ownership, asking thoughtful questions and challenging poor standards while remaining calm, objective and supportive. Nuclear experience and awareness of ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 would be useful but are not essential, particularly if you have demonstrated these qualities within another regulated, highly controlled or safety-critical industry.
