About The Role
We are currently offering a contract opportunity for a Senior Level QA Engineer within a leading aerospace business based in the Luton area. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in aerospace quality assurance, seeking to contribute to high-profile projects in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all design, development, and production processes adhere to rigorous safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This position offers highly competitive rates ranging from 50 to 55 pounds per hour, with a contract duration of 12 months. The role supports hybrid working arrangements, requiring candidates to be within a commutable distance to Luton and available to start immediately. The Senior QA Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and regulatory compliance, to uphold the highest standards of airworthiness and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in aerospace quality assurance, with a proven track record in similar roles. A solid understanding of aerospace standards such as AS9100 and ISO9001 is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with EASA/CAA Part 21J and Part 21G regulations, demonstrating familiarity with certification processes and compliance requirements. Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, Six Sigma, and familiarity with Green or Black Belts, is highly desirable. Knowledge of APQP tools such as PPAP, FMEA, and MSA, along with strong auditing skills—both internal and external—is required. Candidates must be adept at interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications. Experience with configuration and data management systems is also important. The role requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the site champion for quality assurance, facilitating and supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions to address quality issues effectively.
- Ensure that all design, design change, and technical documentation for products meet airworthiness standards in accordance with EASA/CAA Part 21J and customer requirements, working collaboratively with Part 21G organizations.
- Support design reviews, including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR), as well as all stages of the development program to integrate quality, safety, and producibility considerations into initial designs.
- Analyze production defects, supporting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Champion the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, enabling manufacturing techniques for Part 21G organizations and ensuring robust deployment across projects.
- Develop and deploy strategies for APQP tools, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure seamless integration and quality standards.
- Support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process FMEA (PFMEA), and other quality tools to drive industrialization improvements and enhance Part 21G organizational performance.
- Compile and review internal and external First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRS) and Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs), providing status reports and ensuring compliance.
- Engage with customers to address quality escapes, facilitate customer approvals, and ensure customer requirements are met throughout the program lifecycle.
- Support audits and compliance activities related to EASA, CAA, ISO9001, and AS9100 standards, overseeing NCR closeouts and conducting follow-up sessions to ensure continuous improvement.
