About The Role
The QA/QC Engineer role at Dornan Engineering Services Ltd is a vital position reporting directly to the UK Quality Manager. The successful candidate will operate within the framework of the ISO documented Quality Management System, specifically in an electrical project environment involving the installation of heavy electrical equipment, high voltage systems, and general electrical services. The primary focus of this role is to oversee and ensure the quality standards of electrical installations through diligent review, documentation, and verification processes. This includes generating, issuing, recording, and verifying punch lists for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality requirements. The QA/QC Engineer will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the project’s quality controls, coordinating with various stakeholders, and facilitating continuous improvement in quality management practices.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a relevant diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, demonstrating a solid technical foundation necessary for the role. A minimum of five years of experience in a similar QA/QC position within the construction or electrical engineering sector is essential. Proven expertise in ISO 9001 standards is required, with a comprehensive understanding of quality management systems and their application in large-scale electrical projects. The candidate should be familiar with project documentation, punch list management, and quality control processes, with strong communication and coordination skills to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Review and monitor project quality controls, raising quality issues against OFCI vendors and contractors, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Familiarize with the scope of each electrical system, project specifications, and installation procedures.
- Implement and adhere to the site quality plan, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and client requirements.
- Participate in quality review meetings with general contractors (GC) and clients to discuss project progress and quality concerns.
- Provide feedback to line management regarding the effectiveness of quality processes on site and recommend improvements.
- Generate, manage, and close out punch lists, maintaining accurate quality statistics for project tracking.
- Utilize web-based quality management applications to generate reports and track corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the client on scheduling walk-down inspections and participate in these inspections to verify quality standards.
- Ensure all quality documentation is properly maintained and accessible for project audits and reviews.
