About The Role
We are supporting an established financial services organization that is experiencing growth within their Data Migration team. They are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to join their expanding technical function, focusing on ensuring the quality and accuracy of data migration projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity for professionals with a background in QA and data testing, particularly those proficient in SQL and Python, to contribute significantly to critical data processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test plans, validating data integrity, and supporting automation efforts to streamline testing workflows. Working in a hybrid environment based in Cardiff, you will collaborate closely with Data Engineers and technical teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that meet business standards and project deadlines.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a QA or Software Testing role, preferably within data migration or data pipeline projects.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data validation and automation scripting.
- Experience developing and executing detailed test cases aligned with business requirements.
- Ability to manage testing activities across multiple concurrent projects efficiently.
- Knowledge of data migration, ETL processes, or data pipelines is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git/Bitbucket is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication skills to provide clear updates and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for data migration and ETL processes.
- Utilize SQL and Python to validate data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across multiple systems.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues, transformation errors, and edge cases through exploratory testing.
- Develop and maintain automated testing scripts to support regression testing and improve testing efficiency.
- Coordinate testing activities across various projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and technical teams to understand project requirements and validate solutions.
- Provide regular updates on testing progress, risks, and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the testing process and automation frameworks.
