About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our expanding engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies for our innovative InsurTech products. As part of a dynamic Scrum team, you will collaborate closely with software engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance. Your expertise will support the transition towards cloud and SaaS-based solutions, modern UX, and the development of new applications that redefine industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in test automation, performance testing, and software quality assurance, with a passion for continuous improvement and technological excellence.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance, specifically in technical SDET roles
  • Deep understanding of software testing concepts, processes, and methodologies
  • Experience building test frameworks from scratch supporting all levels of the testing pyramid
  • Strong expertise in developing test automation solutions for web-based applications
  • Proficiency in developing test automation in.NET using C#
  • Experience testing and automating distributed systems
  • Knowledge of performance benchmarking solutions for.NET applications
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills for stakeholder interaction
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Extensive experience with continuous integration and delivery tools
  • Awareness of modern engineering tools and practices within testing disciplines
  • Desirable: Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), chaos engineering, automated security testing, and infrastructure as code
  • Understanding of the insurance industry is advantageous
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Define comprehensive test strategies to support new feature development and application launches
  • Design, implement, and document test environments and automation frameworks aligned with strategic goals
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to define user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Create technical test plans focusing on extensive automation across all testing levels
  • Develop and maintain unit, integration, system, and end-to-end automated tests
  • Design performance, load, stress, and soak testing solutions to evaluate system robustness
  • Execute manual and automated functional and non-functional tests, analyzing results for quality assurance
  • Review and debug product and test code to identify defects and performance bottlenecks
  • Support the Product Owner in closing user stories by verifying acceptance criteria and defect fixes
  • Analyze test data, generate detailed reports, and track quality metrics for project milestones
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Contribute to software design discussions, ensuring testability and best practices are integrated into product architecture
  • Research and incorporate new testing tools and methodologies into team practices and continuous integration pipelines
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance testing practices and engineering excellence
