About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer specializing in Automation with a focus on API Testing to join our clients' dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work remotely from London, contributing to the development and enhancement of robust automation frameworks that underpin high-quality software delivery. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions that ensure the reliability, stability, and security of our client’s products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to embed automation deeply into the CI/CD pipelines, thereby accelerating release cycles and improving product quality. This position is perfect for professionals passionate about quality assurance, automation, and continuous improvement, looking to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess proven experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks, with a strong emphasis on API testing and automation. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python is essential, along with hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle), and Agile methodologies is required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to review automation code critically, identify issues early, and promote best practices in test automation. Additionally, experience supporting compliance and security standards, particularly related to healthcare data systems, will be advantageous. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and a passion for writing clean, efficient, and reusable code are highly valued.

Responsibilities

As a QA Engineer - Automation, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and evolving automation strategies across various product areas such as API, UI, contract, and components.
  • Building, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks and scripts, ensuring they are efficient, reliable, and scalable.
  • Deep integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines with a focus on optimizing parallel execution for deterministic and stable results.
  • Investigating flaky tests, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to enhance test reliability.
  • Troubleshooting complex automation failures and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Creating meaningful reports that highlight real risks, not just raw data, to inform stakeholders and guide decision-making.
  • Reviewing automation code, mentoring junior and mid-level automation engineers, and developing reusable components, utilities, and libraries to improve team efficiency.
  • Collaborating with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure fast, stable, and trustworthy releases.
  • Supporting compliance and security standards related to healthcare data systems, where applicable.
