QA Manager
Glanbia Performance Nutrition

Job Responsibilities
- Advise and assist the production team to achieve the required standards for finished product and process. Continually driving standards, increasing right first time and improving quality loss reduction.
- Review and maintain the Company’s Quality Manual so that it demonstrates the Company’s commitment to its own and customer requirements, and those of the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety.
- To be an active member of the crisis management team, HACCP Team and Internal audit team.
- Develop and maintain the Company’s procedures manual and systems (including product specifications, HACCP studies, process control/traceability documentation, and other sundry items as deemed necessary) to control and demonstrate control of the Company’s operations.
- Through the QA team and internal audit team ensure that procedures are adhered to, records maintained, and all non-standard incidents recorded and controlled.
- Lead an action plan to reduce the CPMU and co-ordinate any improvement actions with the operations team.
- Develop and maintain a formalised system of audits to demonstrate that the facilities and production methods and records demonstrate sufficient controls within the Company’s operations. With the audit team ensure that non-conformances raised are rectified in a timely fashion and that summary data are supplied to the senior management team as required by the BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard.
- With the Technical Manager review laboratory results and sampling procedures to ensure best use of resources and interpret results. If changes to procedures are indicated based on results, ensure that these are undertaken.
- As required assist in specifying new equipment and processes for the Company and assist in the design and development of factory layout and fabric.
- Review and update the sites GMP standards with the QA team to ensure the site is audit ready at all times. Supported by 5S standards and QBOS implementation.
- Carry out investigations and projects as directed by the Technical Manager.
- Drive engagement of the quality team through targeted plans directed from staff survey feedback.

What you will bring to GPN:
- Previous food industry experience in a Quality Manager position essential Minimum 2 years.
- Recognised Auditing Qualification.
- BRCGS experience essential, retailer experience desirable.
- Level 3 Food Safety Certification or above is essential.
- Level 3 HACCP Certification or above is essential.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Flexible and be able to work as part of a team, deputise for Technical Manager.
- Possess good verbal and written communication at all levels.
- Strong time management and organization skills are essential.
- Proven leader – History of managing a team 2 years minimum.
- SAP Experience desirable.
- Experience in Autocoding and AI tools desirable.

Where and How You Will Work
The opportunity is based in Middlesbrough with the management of 8 direct reports within a total team of 30+ Technical team members in a typical modern food manufacturing environment. For this job role, individuals can benefit from some Smart working with approx. 90% time spent on site. You may also be required to work in other areas of the business.
