QA & Technical Coordinator | Food Manufacturing
£30,000 to £35,000 | Full Time | Permanent | Site Based | South East England
Found Food & Drink are supporting a growing, independent food manufacturing business with the appointment of a QA & Technical Coordinator.
This is a brilliant opportunity for somebody who already has a foundation within food QA or Technical and wants a role where they can take on real responsibility, broaden their experience and genuinely grow with the business.
This is not a position where you will disappear into a large technical department or be restricted to one narrow area.
You will work closely with senior management, become a key point of contact for day-to-day technical activity and progressively take greater ownership across the function. For the right person, there is a genuine longer-term pathway towards Technical Manager level responsibility.
The role
You will support and increasingly take ownership across:
- Day-to-day quality checks and factory technical activity
- HACCP, CCP monitoring and food safety systems
- BRCGS compliance and audit preparation
- Internal auditing and supporting external audits
- Raising, investigating and closing non-conformances
- Customer complaints and corrective actions
- Customer and supplier specifications
- Supplier approval and assurance activity
- Product compliance and labelling
- Technical documentation and quality records
- Customer technical enquiries
- Development samples and customer projects
- Continuous improvement of technical systems and processes

This is a hands-on, factory-facing role, so we are looking for somebody who enjoys understanding how products are actually made and building strong relationships with the people producing them.
What are we looking for?
Your current title could be QA Coordinator, Quality Assistant, Technical Coordinator, Technical Assistant, Specifications Technologist, QA Technologist or something similar. More important than the title is your experience and attitude.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience within food manufacturing, food ingredients or a closely related environment
- A good understanding of HACCP, food safety and quality systems
- Knowledge of BRCGS, with audit exposure particularly useful
- Experience working with specifications, compliance or technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
- Confidence communicating with colleagues, customers and suppliers
- The ability to work comfortably on the factory floor as well as at a desk
- A practical and commercially sensible approach to technical challenges
