QA Technician Manufacturing
Location: Lichfield area
Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour
A well-established and expanding manufacturing business is seeking a QA Technician to join its Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with quality inspection experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and growing company.
The Role
You will be responsible for ensuring products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will carry out inspections, maintain accurate quality records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections of manufactured components and assemblies
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements
- Use measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
- Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation accurately
- Assist in identifying and investigating non-conforming products
- Support corrective actions and root cause analysis activities
- Participate in internal quality checks and audit activities
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to improve quality performance
- Help maintain quality systems and documentation in line with company procedures
- Promote safe working practices and maintain a clean working environment

Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in a Quality Technician, QA, or Quality Inspector role within manufacturing or engineering
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good computer and record-keeping skills
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently and within a team

Desirable
- Experience within fabrication, welding, machining, or precision engineering
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
- Internal auditing experience
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods
- Experience using CMM inspection equipment
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:30am - 12:00pm
