QA Tester – Shopify / E-Commerce (12-Month Maternity Cover)

Charle is a Shopify Plus agency. We work closely with ambitious brands, from global names to fast-growing start-ups, to design and build e-commerce stores that get found, engage customers and convert.
Alongside bespoke Shopify and Shopify Plus builds, we support merchants with monthly retainers, SEO, and Email & SMS marketing.
The Role
This is up 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, starting December / Early January 2026 with a handover period.
You'll make sure every Shopify site we deliver meets the highest standards for quality, functionality and user experience. You'll test client builds before launch across browsers and devices, flag issues and work closely with our developers and designers to ship flawless work.

Responsibilities
- Review Shopify builds against design and functional requirements
- Carry out manual front-end testing across browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and devices (desktop, tablet, mobile)
- Flag layout, responsiveness and UX issues to the development team
- Test Shopify functionality: navigation, cart and checkout, forms and third-party integrations
- Re-test bug fixes and sign them off before release
- Keep clear, structured QA documentation and test cases
Requirements
- Experience testing websites or digital products (agency or e-commerce experience is a plus)
- A methodical approach, excellent attention to detail and an eye for design
- Able to spot inconsistencies, usability issues and broken functionality
- Familiarity with Shopify or another e-commerce platform preferred
- Clear written communication

- £28,000 – £32,000 depending on experience, plus [holiday allowance] and pension
