Use all your specialist testing skills as you help to protect the UK’s interests
When you join our team as a QAT Analyst, it will be your task to design and execute test plans, and carry out exploratory testing as part of a broader risk-based approach to our important work. Collaborating with colleagues in delivery teams, and determining the testability of functional and non-functional requirements, you’ll use all your domain and business knowledge and take an operational overview when analysing the system under test. We will also expect you to create relevant documentation and engage with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve agreement on the most efficient test solutions.

Always prepared to identify and manage any defects that arise, you’ll understand and manage the relevant constraints and limitations, and support Go-Live and Production deployment activities. Committed to keeping up-to-speed with the latest developments in the field of QAT, and ready to use this knowledge to provide advice and guidance to senior colleagues and other team members, you should also be willing to be on call for up to 7 days per month to support the ‘out of hours’ delivery of the services we provide.
Develop your career as you help to keep the country safe and secure
To be a success in this important role you should hold Agile and ITIL Foundation level qualifications or relevant experience, ISTQB Foundation level certification, and well developed knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure setup. Highly analytical and creative with a challenging and enquiring mind, you should also have a Level 3 Information Communication Technician or equivalent qualification in IT or Computer Science.
Capable of designing appropriate tests to ensure business and operational requirements are met to fulfil final test solutions, you should have proven experience of functional, system integration, regression, non-functional, user acceptance and operational acceptance testing. In addition, we’ll expect you to possess good knowledge of Microsoft SQL and Virtual Machine management tools such as VMWare. A practical understanding of stress, load, soak and performance testing would be desirable, as would an understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery, networking and test automation toolsets.
