About The Role

Driver Hire Chertsey is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced QC Analyst to join their Quality Control Laboratory in Chertsey.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytical chemistry professional with experience in GC/FID, GC/MS and HPLC to join an established business in a varied and technically interesting role.

You will be responsible for carrying out analytical testing, interpreting results and supporting the company’s quality, regulatory and laboratory processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out chemical and physical analysis of essential oils, blends and carrier oils.
  • Perform testing using GC/FID, GC/MS and HPLC.
  • Carry out FAME testing and other analytical testing as required.
  • Participate in organoleptic evaluation and essential oil matching.
  • Analyse and interpret results and produce accurate reports.
  • Prepare and update Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) and Technical Data Sheets.
  • Carry out routine instrument validations and maintain accurate validation records.
  • Maintain laboratory records in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 within the laboratory.
  • Assist with SOPs, Standard Testing Procedures and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Create and assess regulatory documentation and review supplier documentation.
  • Liaise with Production, Development, Purchasing and QA teams.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or relevant qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Previous experience working within a QC, analytical or laboratory environment.
  • Practical experience with GC/FID, GC/MS and/or HPLC.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Good knowledge of GLP and laboratory quality procedures.
  • An understanding of ISO 9001 would be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
